5K and Easter Weekend

Well Monday showed her ugly face today. BOOO!!! I was really dreading this Monday too. I was so busy this weekend that I felt like I needed another day to recover from the weekend. But such is life. With all that said, I had a REALLY good weekend.  I had a lot of fun.

Friday I played some softball.  It was our first game of the season so that was exciting.  I had a couple good hits and I can actually run the bases with out needing a break somewhere between 1st base and home.

Sorry for the horrible pic.  I was in the dug out and there really isn't a good angle from there.

Then on Saturday was the BIG day. I ran my first 5K.  I know this isn't a big deal to some people, but it was to me, for a few reasons, 1.) My dad use to run 10Ks and I always thought it would be fun to run races and have MY child/children watch me run 2.) It was on my bucket list 3.) It was on my short goal list.  Any ways, it was a good time.  Was it easy?? NO!!!! There were 2 hills that I wanted to destroy. They sucked Balls, (okay I know that is gross, but seriously that is how I talk and that is how I felt at the time!) It was when we were going up those hills that I really wanted to stop and walk, but I remembered what my goals were for the 5K. My goals were to NOT stop and walk and to NOT be last.  Well I achieved all that. And I'm proud of myself. The only thing I would change is the fact of running before the race.  I hadn't ran 2 weeks before the race and I wish I could have done better about training before hand.  But I was sick and then I was too scared to run the week before because I didn't want tired muscles before the race.  If I had trained better I wouldn't have to worry about tired muscles if I ran the week before hand. So for the next 5K I will be better prepared!!

Before the 5K with my one of my teammates, Jordan.

After the 5K with my other teammates, Caite and Beckett.

Then on Sunday we went to Great Bend to celebrate Easter. We did an Easter Egg hunt and had a big lunch. I ate way too much, but I think I was still hungry from the night before, well that is my excuse any ways. Oh well it was good. We all had a good time.  I took a bunch of pictures, but I used my camera for once and I haven't downloaded them yet.

After we got back from Great Bend on Sunday afternoon we went for a ride in our RZR and enjoyed the nice weather. We saw some good friends and had another Easter Egg hunt. So needless to say R had a good weekend too. He got to see both sets of grandparents, went to the park (while I ran my 5K) and played with friends, Easter Eggs hunts, and finally he got to go for a ride. We all had a good weekend and we are ALL tired.

It is April and we have so much to look forward to this month.  We have a birthday party (a bunch of family members have April birthdays so we are celebrating them all in one night), a Sand Dunes trip planned, a Warrior Dash, and the same day as the Warrior Dash I have a Royals game to go to!! April is going to be an exciting month!! I have a lot of work ahead of me too for the Warrior Dash so I guess I better get busy.  I am glad the nice weather is here so I can do some stuff outside.  I also should finish up P90X this month.  I will be glad and sad to see that go.  I am ready to try something else, but I also like the workouts.  So I may have to continue doing some of them on my own :)

Oh Yeah I wanted to also say "HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY TO MY HUSBAND!!" It isn't our wedding anniversary, but this would be the day we started to "go out". What a lame label, but what ever. 15 years seems like forever, but I loved every year.  We have had our ups and downs, but I honestly can't imagine going through this life without him. So I look forward to another 15 years and many more to follow that.

Have a good week folks!!
